If a drain under my property is broken, can you repair it without digging?

Various techniques are available for repairs without excavation including Localised Structural Repairs and full length repairs. Ask one of our team to discuss the options with you.

Should I clear a drain myself?

We do not recommend DIY drain clearance for a number of reasons including sewer borne diseases, potential for damage to the drain by using rods with the wrong fittings and often by making the problem worse by compacting the blockage with a plunger.

My drain keeps blocking. What can I do to prevent this in the long term?

Ask for a drain survey to examine any underlying issue. Our team will carry out a CCTV survey and produce a report with recommendations and costs to permanently resolve the issue.

There is a bad smell coming from my drains does this mean they are blocked?

Not necessarily. Drains smell it’s a fact, but the immediate issue is why the smells are getting into the property. Call one of our engineers to investigate the problem, part of the process of resolving the smells will be to check your drains to see if this is the cause.

Can I pay using a credit or debit card?

Yes. We accept all major Credit and Debit cards.

Do you ever ask for money upfront?

No. We never ask domestic customers for money up front.

How long does it take to clear a blocked drain?

This is a question that we are often asked. The answer is that our engineers will make an initial assessment of the problem and work out the best technique to resolve it as quickly and cost effectively as possible. Our engineers will keep you updated on progress throughout the job.

Will your engineers walk dirty boots through my house?

NO. Our engineers carry protective foot covers which they wear over their safety footwear. We will also use dust sheets if we need to carry any equipment into your home.

Do you work in the evening and at weekends?

Yes. Metro Rod is a true 24 hour 7 day a week business. Our Call Centre and local offices all have a team which is ready to help you with any drainage emergency, all day every day.

Do your engineers have the right gear?

All our engineers carry the equipment and tools necessary to access and clear the majority of blockages.
