Please can you pass my thanks onto Metro Rod as they were absolutely amazing yesterday. They called regarding access to the property & conveniently came out allowing me time to ensure the gate was open. They then called to explain the situation & were kind enough to contact the Water Board. Upon returning home they had cleared all the sewage even though they hadn't been able to sort the problem.

Metro Rod Reaches Blockages That Others Can’t

7th December 2018 - in Norwich

Last Friday I was having a nightmare, I was told there was a blockage that required removing most of my kitchen to access it. I then called out Metrorod and Dean the engineer was out to me very quickly. Dean used a CCTV Camera and found the blockage to be in a manhole. He was able to clear the blockage and no works were required to my kitchen.

You might think calling our engineers heroes is pushing it - but in this instance they certainly did save a 'damsel-in-distress'.

"I was in quite some distress at the collapsed drain and it’s results so enormously grateful that from the initial call to Luke who was very sympathetic right through to the engineer work and speedy repairs, the service was amazing. It was a horrible day and I felt so sorry for them having to work outside but they were great and kept me updated with what they’d found and the steps they would take throughout. They were reassuring, professional and efficient despite me being horrified at the mess. It was all cleared and once the remedial work identified, a new set of engineers dispatched a couple of hours later to complete the job. We were relieved that we were able to still look forward to visitors that weekend without worrying. So definitely 5 Star experience and huge thanks to Liam, Mike, Matthew, Stewart & Nicky. Dear Metro Rod,

Your engineer Ben, broke the blockage (with a plunger) in no time but knew that some of it remained. He then jet washed the system, despite another drain feeding into the same pipe making this difficult. I am fairly sure that some of the gunge he removed had been accumulating for 30 years since the house was built.

I am a natural optimist and believe that provided we are careful what we put down the sink, this is as near a permanent fix as is possible. The clever thing was not to simply force a hole through the blockage but to thoroughly clean the pipe as well.

This may sound like bad future business for you but I believe the opposite is true, I will call you first next time (Hopefully not for many years!!). Also, I have already told several friends and neighbours about the excellent job done by Ben of Metro Rod.

Thank you for your expert workmanship and care. Metro Rod Norwich Engineers recently attended to drainage works at my property which included excavation. You wouldn't know they had been and even replace the plants and plant pots afterwards. Really nice people to deal with too.
