21st June 2018 - in Oxford

A call came in at 8pm from a church in Oxford, though they requested that we attend in the morning, which we were happy to do. We sent David out the next day. The problem was three blocked manholes so David went to the furthest manhole to jet with his High Pressure Water Jetter, as he hoped this would clear the blockage and all three would start to flow again. Despite his best efforts he could not reach the blockage, which he was trying to get to from a blind connection from this manhole. As the building by the manholes was a new addition to the church, David asked if there were any plans on site and there were, which is always helpful! The plans revealed a manhole that was not visible previously. David dug in the location and underneath five inches of dirt was the missing manhole. This was quickly opened and jetted and this time he was able to reach the blockage and break it up, allowing the other manholes to flow again.

Thank you for your excellent service that Metrorod Norwich have provided. I called the office yesterday and we had an engineer out and on site within a couple of hours.

Soon after, we received a very detailed breakdown of price and an clear description of the works required. I spoke with my customer this morning and she is amazed at the speed of the service and the very reasonable quote. Needless to say my customer has authorised Metrorod Norwich to carry out the works.

Legends of the drainage industry

20th June 2018 - in Gloucester, Hereford, Newport

Our engineers attended a property in Crickhowell to deal with a blocked drain - as with many customers we encounter, they had already utilised the services of another drainage provider who had failed to rectify their problem completely.

The engineers carried out some drain tracing prior to high pressure water jetting of a blocked manhole - after clearing the blockage we used our CCTV drainage camera to inspect the pipework. Our investigate skills paid off - we found a damaged section of pipework that had been the cause of the customers repeated blockages. We quoted to fix the problem and returned to the property the following week to carry out the repair - leaving the customer safe in the knowledge that her drainage problems had come to an end.

Then went above and beyond what other companies had done previously - and after a lot of drama and problems they found and solved the problem once and for all. They are legends! Late night call

19th June 2018 - in Wantage

We were called out to a blocked drain at a home in Wantage out of hours so we sent our on call engineer, who happened to be our trainee engineer, so we sent him out. He was being shadowed by one of our senior engineers, so the customer got two for one! The senior engineer made sure to watch and make suggestions as Jay set to work. The source of the blockage was traced to the manhole in the back garden, where it was discovered that there was a build of of toilet paper on a sharp bend in the manhole. Mindful of the time of night (it was coming up to 11PM at this point) Jay used his rods to dislodge the paper and unblock the drain. The toilet was tested by flushing to ensure it was free flowing and then the work space outside was hosed down and left clean and tidy.

Our engineer attended a property in Abergavenny where the homeowner had reported that a blocked drain had caused their toilet to back-up.

"Your engineer came to our property today to unblock our drain - he arrived much quicker than expected and sorted the problem for us really quickly with no fuss or mess. Our engineer attended to a property Brecon to unblock a drain in the homeowner's garden. The problem had caused her toilet to block and subsequently spill over in to the garden due to a blocked manhole. We attended the same day at a time that was convenient with the customer.

We were called out to a school in Didcot who were having trouble with a blocked toilet.What could have been a simple fix became more complicated due to the fact that there were 3 buried manholes that we needed to locate and uncover in order to trace and clear the blockage. We do a lot of work for schools and we know that their schedules are important, so we made sure to work quickly and carefully around their day. We were able to clear the blockage after lifting some slabs to find the manholes and everything was cleaned when we were done.
