Metro Rod attended the draw of Wigan Athletic player sponsors recently where we drew Jason Kerr – the captain.

Whilst previously being a Wigan Athletic business sponsor, we decided to enter players draw this year. We were so excited to sponsor a player this season and we would’ve been happy with any outcome but we were especially delighted when we heard we had the opportunity of sponsoring Jason Kerr.

Kerrs Career

Jason Kerr is a fantastic Latics player and an even better Captain. Within his short time so far at Wigan Athletic, from 2021, Kerr has performed outstandingly. In his first season as a Latics player, Jason aided the team to secure promotion to the Championship as champions. Despite Kerr still being in the infancy of his career he has proved his skill to Wigan Athletic and has been given the title as captain for the upcoming season.

He initially started out playing at the Perth Club in 2014 but made his debut at St Johnston in 2018 where he impressed his team and coaches so was placed as captain in 2019. With his great performance he earned the defender recognition in the Scottish Premiership Team of the Season.

He made his debut for Wigan Athletic signing a three year deal in 2021.
