OUR PUMP STATION MAINTENANCE PLAN – METRO ROD ABERDEEN

If you have a pump station installed at your property then you should want to know more about our pump station maintenance plans.

Pumps Mr (002)

Businesses across the country rely on pump stations to move waste water up the sewer lines, and if this fails it can be very disruptive. That’s why after installing a pump, Metro Rod Aberdeen will recommend putting together a complete maintenance plan. When you have an efficient working pump system in place, it can be easy to become complacent and ignore maintenance checks, however, we recommend you have your station checked at least twice a year.

Pump Maintenance

Metro Rod works closely with Willow Pumps to help design and install pumps that fit your businesses needs. This means that by the end of the installation our team will have an in-depth knowledge of the site and pump so our team will be in a good position to recommend a maintenance plan for you. It’s very important to carry out regular pump maintenance to keep them running efficiently. As the pump provides the pressure needed to move fluids up the main sewer lines, if they begin to fail or become blocked it can cause waste water to overflow. This would obviously be very inconvenient for any business or home, so by checking your pump regularly will reduce this risk.

The regular cleaning and checks can take place at a time that suits you, and we recommend this happens every 3-6 months depending on the size of the pump and the frequency of use. As stated on our website, a highland pump station may need 2-3 interim services a year, whilst a low demand may only require 1 a year. As our team will have this knowledge of your site we can tailor the plan to truly suit you. This regular maintenance is greatly beneficial as it can help identify issues early on before they escalate, thus saving you emergency call outs and fixes. By not having a maintenance plan you may run the risk of blockages and general wear and tear that weakens the pump.

However if you do have an issue with your pump station then an engineer can be on site as quickly as possible to carry out the inspection and repairs necessary. Identifying the cause is key to ensuring the problem is resolved. Over time the natural wear and tear of use can mean that parts of the pump will need replacing. Our engineers can quickly resolve the problem and fit the required parts to ensure your pump station is running in optimal working condition.
