Findel Education had problems with standing water outside of their distribution centre in Nottingham, especially near the loading bay. Their operations were disrupted by the flooding, which also put employees and goods at risk. MetroRod was contacted to provide a prompt and efficient drainage solution due to the urgency of the situation.

After assessing the damage from the provided photos, it was clear that the broken slot drains were the main cause of the water accumulation and flooding. Our engineers started by excavating the affected area, removing the damaged drains, and preparing the area for the installation of new, stronger slot drains in order to resolve the problem. This made it possible for the water to be appropriately directed away from the loading bay.
Our crew additionally cleaned the existing manholes and pipework with high-pressure water jetting to make sure all drains were clear of obstructions and operating effectively. Our engineers utilised a 3-ton excavator and a hydraulic pecker to ensure precision and safety while performing the excavation work.
We installed 46 meters of new slot drains, with gullies positioned appropriately to ensure optimal water flow. The new drainage system now efficiently directs water away from the loading bay, preventing any future flooding issues. After the job was finished, our engineers left the location tidy and ready for use, enabling Findel Education to carry on with business as usual. The job was successful, with it being completed within five days.
