What NOT to put down your toilet
We get lots of calls for blockages caused by misuse of our toilet systems, many of which can easily be avoided if we remember what we can and can’t flush.
- Don’t flush rags, cotton buds, sanitary products , nappies , plastic items
- Medical items like needles
- Food waste
- Grease and cooking fats
The worst offenders are:
- Sanitary towels, panty liners and backing strips
- Tampons and applicators
- Facial cleansing, baby and cleaning wipes
- Condoms and femidoms
- Nappies
- Facial cleansing, baby and cleaning wipes
- Bandages and plasters
- Razor blades
- Cotton buds
- Syringes and needles
- Incontinence pads
- Plastic bags and wrappers
- Disposable toilet brushes
- Dental floss
- Hair
Just remember the basic elements, 'The Three Ps' - paper (Toilet), poo and pee.
This way we will have fewer blockages and be saved from the inconvenience of a blocked toilet and the expense of calling a plumber.
This will make yours a very happy toilet!
