Drain lining is an advanced, minimally invasive technique we use to repair defects within drains and pipes.
Here at Metro Rod Stoke we like to keep things nice and easy for our customers so that you can relax with the knowledge that everything is being taken care of. This is why we choose to use minimally invasive techniques when it comes to drain repairs. Drain lining and patching is an advanced method we use to repair the defects we find within your drains. You may think that when you need a drain repair it will require excavating to reach the problem, but this is the case no longer.
We have 2 different methods for drain lining that provide a reliable long-lasting solution. So whether it’s a cracked and leaking pipe or general wear and tear you can be assured you are getting a good fix. After the situation has been assessed our engineers will decide which method to use.
- Ambient Cured Lining - this is used for partial or full relining of sewers and drains to cover the defects, perfect for small sites such as a domestic property. The actual repair is done with resin which is manoeuvred into place using pressure, which then self-cures in ambient temperatures.
- Heat Cured Lining - this method is more common for industrial sites and large commercial premises to line the full length of the drains and pipes. The resin in this method is installed using the inversion method. When it is in place water is heated up inside the pipe so that the curing process can start.
When Would Drain Lining Not Be Possible?
There are some instances when main lining is just possible and to carry out the repair, an engineer will need to excavate the area. If it is the case that a section of the drain needs to be replaced we will need to dig down. This would happen if we are dealing with a collapsed drain.
What Are the Benefits of Drain Lining
The benefits of using these methods are fairly simple, it is less invasive than old fashioned method of excavating to reach the repair site and therefore much less expensive and time consuming. It means our engineers do not need to spend time digging out the drain which means you are spending less on man hours and equipment costs. This will also be much nicer for you as you don’t have to deal with the disruption caused by excavating.
