Yellow Weather Warning.

Yellow Weather Warning.

Frosty Winter Tree

Norfolk and North Suffolk experienced below zero temperatures last night, the Metro Rod Norwich team were working hard attending to emergency call outs, restoring drainage and plumbing services to homes and businesses in Norwich, Great Yarmouth and across the county. But the weather is set to get a little bit worse, with a yellow weather warning in place and continuous snow falling expected from 9pm tonight to 12pm tomorrow (Wednesday), disruption and travel delays are likely. Most schools now communicate closures by social media and texting parents directly, although it's still a really good idea to listen to the local radio stations for updates of school closures and travel updates https://www.heart.co.uk/norfolk/or https://www.bbc.co.uk/radionorfolk

The most important thing is to ensure that you are safe and warm, take a look at our tips and hints here https://www.metrorod.co.uk/about-us/news/weather-watch/ .

Norfolk and North Suffolk Weather Warning Q&A

Q: So what is a yellow weather warning?  https://www.accuweather.com/en/gb/norwich/nr1-1/weather-warnings/329791

A: A yellow weather warning  means that you should plan ahead thinking about possible travel delays, or the disruption of your day-to-day activities.

Last year we saw a red weather warning with the arrival of 'The Beast From The East' https://www.independent.co.uk/topic/beast-from-the-east  lets hope the yellow weather warning isn't escalated further!

The team today are working on planned scheduled maintenance in retail and restaurant outlets in Norwich City Centre, attending a site assessment of a large administrative company on the south side of Norwich, clearing a blocked toilet in a domestic property in Cromer and a Care Home in Lowestoft  along with various other works and emergency call outs, I've even seen a team of our engineers working hard in my home village of Long Stratton.

If you have any drainage or plumbing requirements, simply give us a ring and we will send one of our team of engineers out to assist at the earliest opportunity. You don't need to fear the worst from this Norwich weather warning. Remember we are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Our engineers are ready and waiting to help you with any drainage or emergency plumbing issue that you have day or night, what ever the weather.

As mentioned, along with fixing blocked toilets, unblocking drains, and dealing with other reactive works, we also carry out planned maintenance? Also referred to as scheduled maintenance, pre-planned maintenance or PPM, our engineers carry out proactive planned maintenance on commercial and domestic premises in order to keep facilities in the best condition possible. One of our friendly, experienced and knowledgeable engineers will visit your premises and assess your drainage and plumbing facilities, inside the building, such as toilets, sinks, showers, and even fat and grease management in the kitchen. Also outside the building we will inspect pumps, manholes, gully's and guttering along with anything else of concern which could be unique to the property. We will then report back with the current condition and recommend and way forward and plan a maintenance programme. This could vary from monthly maintenance to annual maintenance to suit your needs and usage. We will then call you and book an appointment to carry out the works when it is due.

One of the questions we are asked frequently is "How do we clear a blocked toilet?" This depends on the problem and where the blockage is located but we can use a number of techniques such as rodding and high pressure water jetting (hpwj) to clear blockages. Our highly qualified and knowledgeable engineers will always keep you informed of the work they are undertaking..that is if you want to know! High Presser Water Jetting is also environmentally friendly and is just water under very high pressure, no chemicals are used in this process.

If you think you may have a problem with your plumbing or drainage, or wish to talk to us about planned maintenance, please give us a ring and we will be more than happy to discuss your property and our services.

Give us a ring today, if you need us to unblock a toilet, unblock a sink, or have a  suspected water leak or any other drainage or plumbing needs. For our full list of services take a look athttps://www.metrorod.co.uk/local/norwich/ or  call on 0800 66 88 00.

Have a good day, stay warm, good people of Norfolk and North Suffolk!
